¿Por qué prohibieron el circo? / Why was the circus forbidden?
Novel , 1983
A young teacher arrives at a small town in the middle of nowhere to occupy a vacant position. It is an apparently placid town, where everything is where it should be. Its hierarchies are clear, its inhabitants have a good heart, and simple life reigns. That is, let’s just say, the thick cloth that hides the world of injustice and resentment that truly exists there. Toño, the young teacher, who carries his own ghosts with him, tears that cloth, and then the serene town shows its true colors. Where there was resignation, passion arises; where there was obedience, rebellion emerges.
