The Spanish writers Carme Riera, Luis Leante and Rosa Montero are some of the guests of honour of the literature festival MAČ, which will take place from 1 July to 4 August 2016.
The Authors’ Reading Month literary festival takes place simultaneously in Brno and Ostrava (Czech Republic), Košice (Slovakia), Wroclaw (Poland) and Lviv (Ukraine). It concentrates on presenting national literature but it also selects a different country each year to be the guest of honour, and presents its literature to festival audiences. Past guests have included Canada, France, Belarus and Austria. Over the month of July one visiting and one local author are introduced each day.
