Jesús Ferrero, Premio Café Gijón 2018

Jesús Ferrero (Zamora, 1952) has been awarded the Café Gijón 2018 Prize with his novel Las abismales. The jury of the 68th edition of the award has highlighted "the courage of the author to pose a story that, with a solid anchorage in the most pressing reality, and with accurate philosophical and symbolic references, builds an apocalyptic plot with fantastic dyes, immersed all in an atmosphere of intrigue and mystery. "

Rosa Regás, as president of the jury, has announced the winner of this edition to which more than six hundred manuscripts from all over the world have been submitted. In addition to Regás, José María Guelbenzu, Mercedes Monmany, Marcos Giralt and Antonio Colinas have been part of the jury.

Editorial Siruela will be responsible for publishing the novel awarded with the Café Gijón Award, which will be released in January 2019.
