El asesinato de varias mujeres, cuyos rostros inertes llevan grabado a cuchillo la letra P, centra la trama de esta trepidante lectura en la que cada uno de los cuidados matices nos va ofreciendo un cuadro de una sociedad donde sólo sobrevive quien es capaz de defenderse a sí mismo. El suspense sin tregua y un excelente manejo de referencias a la "alta cultura" y a los grandes medios de comunicación de masas componen el telón de fondo de esta inquietante novela de Fonseca cuyo título nos recuerda los versos de Arquíloco de Paros: "Tengo un gran arte, hiero duramente a aquéllos que me hieren".
