A few years after the Spanish Civil War, Andrea arrives in Barcelona to study Literature at the University. During her stay in the marvellous Catalan city, she lodges with her relatives, but the excitement she feels in those magical initial moments vanishes the instant the apartment door opens. From that point on, everything begins to feel like a nightmare. The family atmosphere becomes increasingly suffocating, and the pain of the protagonist’s loneliness clings to her figure — a shadow barely reflected in a mirror.
