Triclinio has four sisters and no friends; at school, with a name like that, everyone makes fun of him. But Triclinio enjoys himself even when he’s alone—his friends are the vultures, a mesquite tree, and a family of ringtails, close relatives of raccoons. As his confidant, he has a seashell that carries the sound of the ocean inside.
Being the only boy, he must accompany his sisters when they go out with their boyfriends, but in return, he gets popcorn at the movies, ice cream, and sweets on their walks. In short, everyone is happy. Until that telegram arrives, signed “the Beautiful Dorotea”...
