In 1925, a young Josep Pla was sent as a correspondent to Russia to write a series of articles for the newspaper La Publicitat. At 28, Pla knew about Russia about what everyone else did in those days: practically nothing. He only knew what newspapers had told about the Revolution and the years that followed. The first Soviet leader, Lenin, had only been dead for just a year, and Stalin had seized power. Josep Pla was welcomed during his stay by politician and translator, Andreu Nin. An exceptional document showing us the communist Russia of the year 1925 by one of the most important chroniclers that our country has ever had.
