After a long spell in a psychiatric hospital, Abel returns to the village of his childhood, Muerdealmas. He has decided to start a new life from scratch with his wife and son in the mansion on an uncle found dead in strange circumstances.

However, the village has now become a sinister place, outside the law and under the control of the Osset, a wild, inbred clan at war with a rival family with whom they hold an ancestral vendetta.

As soon as he arrives, Abel’s presence is met with hostility. And his life and his family are placed in serious danger when the Osset patriarch’s daughter is found dead, sparking off a spiral of violence and bloodshed that will push Abel’s sanity to the limits.
