Can a garden save a life? Can a gardener save the planet? The characters of the stories, which form A Piece of Land, will sometimes plant gardens and vegetable plots and in others will observe them or take care of them, embodying the best aspects of the human condition. They are everyday heroes who, with small gestures or great deeds, contribute to making the world a better place. From different places and in different circumstances, they all sing the same song in defence of the planet, our abode, our most precious piece of land. Santiago Beruete, author of the essays Jardinosofia (2016), Verdolatria (2018) and Aprendívoros (2021), occasion has graced us on this occasion with twenty-two short soties which invite the reader to reflect on the transformative power of nature.
