50th Anniversary edition of LAST EVENINGS WITH TERESA by Juan Marsé

Last Evenings with Teresa (Últimas tardes con Teresa) by Juan Marsé constitutes one of the milestones of mid-20th century Spanish narrative.  Awarded Spain’s Short Novel Prize in 1965, it established the author as one of the most representative writers of modern European literature.

“Last Evenings with Teresa is not only one of the great dramas of my life, but also of many people my age (…) It has everything one can ask of a novel; it seems written in a state of grace.” (Javier Cercas)

Juan Marsé’s last novel That very Distinguished Bitch (Esa puta tan distinguida) has recently been published by Lumen, in April 2016.

“My next novel will deal with the ruses and traps set by our memory, that very distinguished bitch” (Juan Marsé)
