Tiempos Recios by Mario Vargas Llosa wins the André Malraux 2021 Prize, in the 'Fiction engagée' category. The award, which has four editions, aims to perpetuate the memory of the writer and intellectual André Malraux (1901-1976), and the values of artistic creation and the commitment of the human being. The jury, made up of Cécile Guilbert, Céline Malraux, Diana Picasso, Alexandre Duval-Stalla, Adrien Goetz, Matthieu Garrigou-Lagrange, Mamadou Mahmoud N'Dongo and Mathieu Simonet, has highlighted "une mécanique d’écriture implacable perdant sans cesse le lecteur dans un dédale de trahisons, d’intrigues et de complots, nous offre, une nouvelle fois, la démonstration de son génie littéraire."
